Silver Tassie Wargrave

Silver Tassie

Wargrave, Berkshire

Designed as a charming riverside weekend house set on one of the most iconic stretches of the River Thames, this dwelling was conceived around relaxation and pleasure and entertaining. A 5 bedroomed riverfront house designed to reflect the character of Edwardian boating architecture on the upper reaches of the River Thames, Silver Tassie is constructed from sustainable timber and with an intricate attention to detail, and is arranged to afford stunning views of the river and surrounding countryside.

Architectural Design

The design of the building with its roots in the traditions of Thames side architecture, has been influenced by the Shaker tradition of America.
The house incorporates light-hearted elements such as decorative barge boards, moulded carved timbers and ornate dormer windows. The house is raised 1.5m above the ground to avoid flooring and is built on two storeys, with dormer and gable windows, a verandah running around three sides and an ornamental vedette at one corner.
