Treloar's School & College Masterplan
Holybourne, Alton
Treloar's is a School and College for severely physically disabled young people, almost all of whom use motorised wheelchairs. The masterplan is part of a journey from the original site, built around a nearby historic manor house at the start of the 20th century.
Our masterplan has created the facility to allow for expansion and re-rolling of some of Treloar's functions to suit the modern needs of disabled young people.
The masterplan has highlighted a series of initiatives to modernise the whole site and include:
- New staff accommodation facility to allow increased staffing and improve staff retention.
- This will facilitate an adjustment in student numbers with planned extensions to dining facilities at boarding houses, a new-build boarding house, horticulture centre, and a new life skills centre with supported living.
- A new Life Skills Centre to enable young college leavers to learn to adapt to adult life with a degree of independence. Students can learn skills and post-college topics, and learn to live independently in a sheltered and assisted environment.
- A Hybrid Outline-Detailed planning permission for the Masterplan has been obtained and implemented.
